Era Draconis

"Era Draconis" ---The Age of The Dragon.

She was told she could not tame one of the Sky Lords. She was told we was not old enough, strong enough, not capable enough. She was told she could not be amongst the chosen. She had not a single drop of noble blood in her veins; she was not a maiden, and most certainly not a male, though neither by choice.
Driven by grief and revenge she faced the Quest, she entered the Trials. And she came back. A blade on her back. A flame in her heart. And majest wings of the purest gold followed her every step...

I've wanted to submit an original piece to this gallery for quite some time... but I never got the chance/developed the guts. You see, even after years of being online and sharing fanarts, this is they very first piece of original art I've ever posted.
I'm quite apprehensive about it. :S

My delight is to draw the human figure; to design clothes and suits and armors (and jewelrly and tattooes), and add that certain 'touch of oddness' to the finished piece. For example, the Dragooner-Lady featured in this piece has feathers for hair...
The Dragon was supposed to have scales all over, but ALAS! I lost that layer due to PC-issues. ç__ç

The PC-issues are what are forcing me to post the piece as it is - though it retains a general "unfinished feel" I can't get rid of, it weight too much for my PC to handle it anymore. Besides, the main core of the pic, the standard 21x29,7cm area that features the Dragooner and her "pet" is clean and detailed enough.

I might re-submit this at a later date, but my goal would be to paint and post at least *one* piece for each genre I love best - fantasy, sci-fi, supernatural and horror. :3

Upon further reflection, the painting I chose... the painting I especially made for this occasion... might not be the best suited to represent me.
For starters,the painting technique was not my usual, but rather an experiment (though I must admit, I'm quite the mad scientist when it comes to painting, and most of my coloured pieces are experiments) . Also, a scantly-clad girl and a dragon coming from somone who's been drawing male elves, robots, and male warriors for the last few years *is* quite the rule-breaker. *laughs*

But I'm feeling brave, and posting it all the same. After all, if there one good thing about this piece, is that it proves just how heclectic (and adaptable) an artist I can be---on the grounds that my Muses are there to support me. *laughs* The pests are rather moody, I'll have you know.
